Deployment story
Walker S2 at Rossmann: a year-long logistics pilot in Burgwedel
Rossmann received one Walker S2 on March 17, 2026 and is testing how humanoid robotics fits its existing logistics workflows.
Rossmann's own March 26 announcement identifies the robot, delivery date and operating city. Terra Robotics supplied one UBTECH Walker S2 for a pilot in Burgwedel, Germany, planned to run throughout 2026. The work begins with selecting suitable tasks and integrating the robot into existing logistics processes.
The customer describes a staged roadmap: identify use cases, introduce practical applications, then assess possible expansion. Repetitive and physically awkward work is the intended target. Rossmann does not name a completed picking station, publish cartons per hour or claim a chain-wide rollout.
This is useful evidence of a robot reaching a European customer's operating environment, with the logistics organization owning the evaluation. It remains a pilot. Battery exchange is a product capability, not a measured year-long uptime result. Buyers should look for task-specific acceptance criteria, supervision costs and the final evaluation before extrapolating savings to other warehouses.
