Airbus buys Walker S2: the operating factory remains undisclosed
January 2026 reporting confirms an Airbus purchase and cooperation agreement, without evidence of a named operational installation.
UBTECH announced a humanoid-services agreement with Airbus on January 18, 2026. Yicai's January 19 report says Airbus purchased Walker S2 and that the companies would explore applications in aircraft production. Reuters subsequently reported the supply agreement.
Neither account identifies a manufacturing facility, installed fleet, accepted production task or operating result. An aerospace customer is commercially significant, but buying a robot does not establish that it has entered regular aircraft assembly. This record remains announced, with no country or map point inferred from Airbus's headquarters or factory network.
The next useful evidence would be customer confirmation of the worksite, task and acceptance phase. Handling, inspection and assembly are plausible product applications, not demonstrated Airbus work in these sources. The record preserves the agreement while making the distinction between procurement and operation explicit.
